Setting Outbound Telephony Parameters
Do the following tasks to set up telephone notification:
- Install Polaris Phone Notification software on the telephony server or servers. This option is part of the Polaris server installation. See the Polaris Installation Guide for details, or contact your Polaris Site Manager. During this installation, you decide whether to use human voice messages or computer-generated voice messages. See Voices for Outbound Telephony.
- Set up the telephony server or servers in Polaris Administration.
- Activate telephone notification as a delivery option, and specify the types of notices to deliver by telephone.
- Set the telephony server parameters. These specify whether long distance calls are allowed, ports for outgoing lines, and other characteristics of the system. See Set General Telephone Notification Parameters.
- Set the dates when patrons should not be called. See Add a No-Call Date.
- Set the dialing hours for the notification server to place calls. See Set Dialing Hours.
- If you will use computer-generated voices, select and adjust the voices. See Set SAPI Voice Parameters for Outbound Telephony.
