Add a Patron Code
To add a patron code in the Patron Codes policy table:
Important:
Add patron codes carefully because you cannot delete patron code entries using the Polaris Administration tools. However, the system administrator can change the Patron Codes table using SQL Server’s Query Analyzer.
- In the Administration Explorer tree view, open the Policy Tables folder for the organization, and select Patron Codes. The Patron Codes policy table is displayed in the details view.
- Click to display the Insert: Patron Codes dialog box.
- Type text describing the new patron code in the Description box.
The text can be a code, mnemonic, abbreviation, or full description. Be aware that your entry will be displayed as a selection in the Patron Code field of all records that use this field, and will be displayed to the patron on the PAC patron account page.
- Click OK on the dialog box. The Patron Codes table appears with the new patron code description. The status bar indicates that the modification is pending.
- Select File | Save to save your changes. The status bar indicates that the record is saved.
- Select the codes each organization wants to use. See Filter patron codes for specific organizations.
