Configure kiosk sites
You can configure kiosk sites for your library branches and customize your Vega Discover user interface. Kiosks provide availability and call numbers to both guests and patrons for the selected branch location.
Administrators must set up individual libraries in Vega before the libraries can perform customization tasks. For information on customization, see the following topics:
You can set the amount of time that you want to allow individual kiosks to remain idle before the system ends the session. Innovative recommends that you set a timeout period of at least 5–15 minutes for patron kiosks. The default timeout setting is 90 days.
For information on setting session timeouts, see Set the session timeout period.
Patron experience
Let’s say you’re at a branch library, and you use a kiosk. The preferred location for the kiosk is set to the branch location. If you search for an item, Vega displays call numbers for the branch and call numbers for your home library along with their availability. You can also select View More to see call numbers at other branches.
If you use a kiosk at a consortia library and you don’t sign in, the kiosk only displays call numbers and availability for that location.
