Updating Staff Override Settings
To update you site's staff override settings, contact your Central System Administrator.
The Staff Override Configuration (staff.conf) file allows staff at specified INN-Reach agencies to enter a staff override for requesting items on behalf of patrons, bypassing the patron PIN. This file is only valid on an INN-Reach Central server.
The staff.conf file does not exist by default. To create a staff.conf file, the INN-Reach Central System Administrator should complete the following steps:
- Create a staff.conf file using a text editor (such as Notepad).
- Using the Web Master function on the INN-Reach Central server, upload the staff.conf file to your Central Configuration Files directory.
Accessing the Central Configuration Files
If you are unable to access the Central Configuration Files process, verify your login has access to the process in the Web Master Tab.
- Edit the staff.conf file in the Web Master function, if necessary.
The file format is:
[Sitecode]|[Enable]|[StaffOverride]|[Mediate]
This filename contains the following elements:

| [Sitecode] | The INN-Reach local site code. |
| [Enable] | The enabler for the override function. A "true" value (any word starting with 't', 'T', 'y', 'Y', or the number '1') enables the staff override function for the specified site. A "false" value (any word starting with 'f', 'F', 'n', 'N', or the number '0') or leaving the value blank disables the override functionality for the specified site. |
| [StaffOverride] | The value of the staff override code. This value must be exactly seven digits long. |
| [Mediate] | If this element has a "true" value (any word starting with 't', 'T', 'y', 'Y', or the number '1'), requests from the specified site can only be submitted using the override value. If this element has a "false" value (any word starting with 'f', 'F', 'n', 'N', or the number '0') or is blank, users can request normally. |
