Defining Material Type Icons

To edit Material Type Icons, you must be assigned permission 705 (Edit Material Type Icons). See Permissions Used by Sierra for more information.

You can assign existing system icons to show in record and browse displays for specific material types.

Custom Material Type Icon Images

The Sierra Desktop Application does not currently support customized material type icons.

To assign new material type icons:

  1. Choose Admin | Parameters | General | Material Type Icons.
  2. Choose Insert.
  3. Choose a material type from the drop-down list.
  4. Click the Set Resource button.
  5. Choose a graphic from the list and click Select.
  6. Click OK.
  7. Click the Save icon.

To assign a different icon to an existing material type:

  1. Choose Admin | Parameters | General | Material Type Icons
  2. Double-click on the selected entry in the table.
  3. Click the Set Resource button.
  4. Choose a graphic from the list and click Select.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Click the Save icon.

To delete an entry:

  1. Choose Admin | Parameters | General | Material Type Icons.
  2. Select the entry in the table.
  3. Click the Delete icon.
