Viewing Log Files in Data Exchange

When you load or export records, the system creates a log file. Errors and load statistics are stored in this file.

To view the errors or statistics related to the loading or exporting of records:

  1. Select a file with the .errlog extension.
  2. Choose Tools | View a File.
The marc2inn.log File

If your library is set up to do so, you can view messages that are not included in the .errlog file by choosing the marc2inn.log file.

The marc2inn.log file logs the progress of the program that loads MARC records into your Innovative system. Each new load process is appended to the marc2inn.log file.

To print the errors and statistics, choose File | Print from either tab. The content of both tabs prints.

Naming Log Files

When you load records, the log file created by the system is named by using the preprocessed file name and the ".errlog" extension.

When you perform a test load, the log file created by the system is named by using the preprocessed file name and the ".errlog (testing)" extension.

When you export records, the log file created by the system is named by using the exported file's name and the ".errlog" extension.

The .errlog file contains information such as:
