Checking In Items with Special Conditions Using the SIP2 Circulation Interface

If your library has acquired the SIP2 Circulation Interface and uses SelfCheck units to check items in, by default the system does not check in items with the following special conditions:

To enable SelfCheck units to automatically check in these items, you can request that Innovative enable the SIP2 Checkin of Items with Special Conditions feature. When using this feature to check in items, SelfCheck units automatically do the following:

When checking in: The system:

  2. Writes a message to the screen message field of the SIP2 Checkin Response.
  3. Displays the call number in the SIP2 Checkin Response.
  4. Sets the Alert flag in the SIP2 Checkin Response.
  5. Changes the item's STATUS to '!' (ON HOLDSHELF).

    • set in transit to fulfill a hold, the system adds the pickup location code and the barcode of the patron for whom the item is being held to the destination location field of the SIP2 Checkin Response.
