Limit Searching by non-Barcode Indexes

When a user selects Check Out in Circulation's Circulation Desk function, the system prompts for the patron's barcode. By default, the system enables staff to access the patron record by entering the 'n' index tag and the patron's name in place of the barcode. However, a staff member using this method can also inadvertently retrieve the wrong record.

Innovative can configure your system to do one of the following:

• enable index searches for all staff
• globally disable index searches for all staff
• require the user to be assigned permission 1051 (Search patrons by non-barcode index)
