Viewing the Third-Party NCIP Holdshelf

The third-party NCIP Holdshelf displays the items that were requested via the third-party NCIP application and are ready for pickup. The system displays the NCIP Holdshelf separately, similar to the ILL Holdshelf. For example:

The system uses the label for the "DCB" tab in the label for the NCIP Holdshelf (for example, "DCB Holdshelf", "EZB Holdshelf", etc.).

To view NCIP requests in the NCIP Holdshelf:

  1. Choose Clear Expired Holds and Holdshelf from the Function list.
  2. In the Holds pane, select the holdshelf option for your third-party NCIP setup (for example DCB Holdshelf).
  3. Choose View.
  4. To view third-party NCIP application hold details for an item, select the item and choose Hold Detail. To print the NCIP Holdshelf Report, choose the Print toolbar icon.
Clearing NCIP Holds

Circulation does not allow users to clear NCIP holds using the holdshelf. To clear holds made with the third-party NCIP requestor application, check in the item using the third-party application and ship the item back to the owning institution.
