Receiving a Pickup Anywhere Item at the Owning Site
When the owning site receives a Pickup Anywhere item, staff must check it in to acknowledge it has been received.
To check in a Pickup Anywhere item at the owning site:
- Choose Check-In (No Patron) from the Function list.
- Scan the item's barcode. The system:
- Changes the item's STATUS from '@' (OFF-SITE) to '-' (AVAILABLE).
- Removes the virtual patron record and the INN-Reach message field from the item record.
- Changes the STATUS of the requested item's entry in the Pickup Anywhere database on the INN-Reach Central Server from "RETURNED" to "COMPLETED."
- Sends a circulation message to the patron site acknowledging that the item was checked in by the owning site. When the patron site receives this message, the system removes the virtual item record.
