Maintaining a Network Connection to the INN-Reach Central Server
If you want to change your Local Server's IP Address or install a new firewall, you must schedule this in advance with Innovative. In such cases, Innovative needs to make adjustments on both your Local Server and the INN-Reach Central Server. Contact Innovative for more information.
To use INN-Reach software, you must configure your Local Server and its firewall to allow communication with the INN-Reach Central Server. Note that you must perform these steps in addition to any non-INN-Reach setup procedures on your Local Server. For more information, see the Access through Local Firewalls FAQs on CSDirect.
INN-Reach Circulation requires that your Local Server use Secure Patron Verification, which encrypts the patron verification information sent by your Local Server to the INN-Reach Central Server.
To configure the network connection to the INN-Reach Central Server, open the following ports to incoming and outgoing messages:
- To allow INN-Reach circulation connections, open port 6601 to incoming and outgoing messages.
- To allow INN-Reach record-loading connections, open port 5020 to incoming and outgoing messages.
- To allow Secure Patron Verification, open port 443 to incoming and outgoing messages.
- (Optional) To allow Pickup Anywhere for INN-Reach connections, open ports 4465 and 4470 to incoming and outgoing messages.
