Overriding an ArticleReach Usage Threshold
If your library has enabled the ArticleReach Usage Thresholds feature and chooses to send requests exceeding the first action threshold to mediation, you can override the first action threshold for one or more requests once they are in mediation.
When you override the first action threshold, the system re-evaluates the request for paging as if no first action threshold were present. However, this re-evaluation does include a determination of whether or not the final action threshold has been exceeded. If the re-evaluated request causes the final action threshold to be exceeded, the system manages the request according to the final action setting.
Requests that exceed the final action threshold cannot be sent to mediation. Accordingly, the final action threshold can never be overriden.
You can override the first action threshold when:
- Viewing mediated requests:
- View the requests in mediation at your library.
- Select the request(s) from the table of requests.
- Choose the Override icon. The system displays the message, All selected requests were submitted for paging.
- Choose the OK button to clear the message. The request(s) no longer display in the table of mediated requests.
- Editing mediated requests:
- Edit the mediated request.
- Choose the Override icon. The Edit Mediated Request dialog automatically closes, and the system returns you to the Mediate Requests screen.
