Holds: Number of holds before minimum use used for due date

This circulation option enables you to shorten the due dates of items that are in demand.

Set this option to the number of holds that can be placed on an item before the system uses the loan rule's MINIMUM USE element in calculating the item's due date at checkout.

The system counts all holds—title-level, volume-level, and item-level—when determining the number of holds placed on an item.

If this option is set to '0', the system always uses the MINIMUM USE element to calculate an item's due date at checkout, regardless of the number of holds placed on the item.
