Check-out: What to do with bill of billed item
If a replacement bill exists for an item that has had the highest level of overdue, and the item is presented for check-out, your library has the following options:
- "WAIVE" -- always waive the replacement bill
- "REDUCE" -- always reduce the bill (as specified by the Check-in of billed item.... Circulation Option)
- "ASK" -- always prompt the user to waive or reduce the bill. Note that if your library has acquired the SIP2 Circulation Interface product and has this option set to "ASK", the previous patron's outstanding bill is neither reduced nor waived when a patron checks an item out using SelfCheck.
Note that this option does not apply to items that were billed as a result of being declared lost.
