Check-in: Store check-in time in item record

To record the last checkin date in the LCHKIN fixed-length field when you check in an item from a patron, set this option to "YES".

Circulation does not update the LCHKIN field upon checkin of an item that is not checked out. For more information, see Checking In Items.

If you set this option to "NO," an item record's LCHKIN field will be blank or reflect the last date the item was checked in while this option was enabled.

The last checkin date reflects the actual date the item was checked in except in certain backdating circumstances. For more information, see Backdating Checked-in Items.

Changing the Format of the LCHKIN Field

By default, the LCHKIN field displays only the date of the last checkin. Innovative can configure your system so that the LCHKIN field displays both the date and time of the last checkin. To change the format of the LCHKIN field at your library, contact Innovative.

Allow Rapid Updating of LCHKIN Field

If the Allow Rapid Updating of LCHKIN Field feature is enabled, you can use the Rapid Update function to reset the value of the LCHKIN field. To have this feature enabled at your library, contact Innovative.
