Create Weeding Criteria
Weeding criteria sets allow you to define the attributes that specific item records should have to make them eligible for weeding based on this template.
One weeding template can have multiple inclusion criteria sets. There is a Boolean operator of "OR" between sets. If a record matches one criteria set and not the others, it is still added to the list. The inclusion criteria create blocks, so you cannot add an item that does not match the power search expression. However, item filters create alerts, so you can continue adding an item even if the item doesn't match the item filters.
To create a weeding criteria set
-
Enter a Name for the criteria set.
-
Enter a power search expression in the Inclusion Criteria box.
You can test your power search expressions by putting them in the search bar of the Find Tool to see the results. For information on building power search expressions, see Do a Power Search.
-
(Optional) Select TEST CRITERIA to have Leap validate the syntax in the Inclusion Criteria box.
A green dialog indicates that the power search syntax is correct. A yellow dialog indicates that the power search syntax contains errors.
-
Select item filters according to how you want to limit the search further:
-
Creation dates — enter a number in Newer Than or Older Than, then select Years or Months.
-
Lifetime Circulation counts — select Over or Under, and then type a number in Lifetime Circulation or Lifetime In-House Circulation.
-
