Power searches allow you to use Common Command Language (CCL) queries to craft a precise and complex search.

  1. Open the Find Tool.
  2. Select the type of record to find (if it is not already selected).
  3. Select Power Search.
  4. Enter the power search in the search box. For a list of search access points, see the Polaris staff client help.
  5. Press Enter, or select Search Search icon.

The search results are listed.

  1. Select a record and select OPEN.

Build and Copy a Power-Search Expression

To build a power search expression for use in workforms

  1. Open the Find Tool.

  2. Select the type of record.

  3. Select the Search Filter icon Search Filter icon.

  4. Build your filter using the key terms and Boolean operators in the drop down lists and entering text in the text boxes.

  5. Select the Add Condition + icon to add another row of conditions to the filter.

  6. To see the power search expression, select the Preview Query icon Preview Query icon.

    A window opens showing the Common Coding Language (CCL) expression for the conditions you selected.

  7. Highlight and copy the expression.

  8. Paste the expression in a field in a workform (such as Inclusion Criteria in the Criteria Workform) or in the search box of the Leap Find Tool.
