In basic search mode, you first perform a search, and then refine the search after you see the search results. In advanced search mode, you can add refinements to your initial search, and continue to modify your search to narrow the search results.
The system remains in advanced search mode until you switch back to basic search mode. You can switch between basic search and advanced search mode as you wish.
When you switch from advanced search to basic search mode, or from basic search to advanced search mode, the system clears all facet filters and search terms. You can also use the Reset Filters button to clear your facet filters.
When you select a facet filter from the Refine Results panel, the system locks the facet so you can continue to refine the search and still retain the selected facets. You can unlock facet filters as needed.
To perform an advanced search
- Under the search box, select Advanced Search.
- Enter search terms and select facet filters from the Refine Results panel to narrow your search results.
The Refine Results panel opens.
