Manage default showcases

Vega integrates with the New York Times (NYT) Books API to provide New York Times showcases. Vega retrieves updated bestseller information from the API every night and refreshes the showcases in your catalog. If a bestseller's ISBN matches a title that’s already in your catalog, that title will be included in the showcase.

Showcase options include the following:

  • NYT—Children's Middle Grade Bestsellers
  • NYT—Children's Picture Books Bestsellers
  • NYT—Combined Print & E-Book Fiction Bestsellers
  • NYT—Combined Print & E-Book Nonfiction Bestsellers
  • NYT—Young Adult Bestsellers

Notes

  • Browse by shelf and genre-based showcases are not NYT showcases and they’re not recommended for use in Vega Discover. Innovative recommends that they remain off.
  • When you hide materials from showcases, the materials still appear in search results.

Turn NYT showcases on or off

You can turn each NYT showcase on or off. You can also individually suppress titles from each NYT showcase if desired.

Hide content from showcases

You can hide content from showcases to change the patron experience. You can hide less useful fast subject headings, corporate authors such as publishing companies, titles with explicit covers, and any other materials you don’t want to appear as discovery suggestions in showcases.

Suppress items

You can individually suppress any inappropriate or undesirable titles, contributors, and related resources from appearing in Vega showcases.
