Bounce handling
If notices are returned because of invalid email addresses, LX Starter takes the following actions:
- Patron records that contain invalid email address display a red alert message.
- LX Starter automatically sets the contact method for the patron to the default contact method set in the library settings.
- LX Starter stops sending emails to email addresses that have hard-bounced.
This prevents your library from accumulating high bounce rates.
To view email metrics
- On the Sequences tab, select a published notice.
- Select the Performance tab.
To reenable email notices for patrons
- Update the patron's email address in either LX Admin or the ILS.
Spam handling
If patrons mark emails from the library as spam, LX Starter does the following:
- LX Starter automatically sets the contact method for the patron to the default contact method set in the library settings.
- If you have Vega Promote, the system adds the patron to the block list and unsubscribes them from all marketing segments they belong to.
This protects your domain so your notice and marketing emails don't go your patrons' spam folders. If the patron wants to receive to receive marketing emails, they must opt in again through the newsletter sign up form.
To reenable email notices
- Update the patron's contact method in the patron record. For more information, see Edit a person's account.
