Selecting a Library and Signing In

To get started with the MyLibrary! app:

  1. Tap the MyLibrary! app icon to start the MyLibrary! app. The Select Library screen appears.

    2. New Version Available

    A message alerts you if a new version of the app is available. Go to the Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) to download the new version.

  2. Type the first few letters of the library name, then tap the full library name as it appears. The library’s Home screen appears.

Signing In

You can sign in at any time while using the MyLibrary! app, either by scanning your library card or by typing your barcode, unique user identifier, or external LDAP authentication information if your library offers these options. You remain signed in to your library account until you tap Sign Out, you change your library password (PIN) outside the app, or two months have passed since you last accessed the app.

Camera Access for Scanning

To scan a barcode, the app must have permission to access your device's camera. Go to Settings on your device to grant the MyLibrary! app permission to access the camera.

To sign in to the MyLibrary! app:

  1. Tap the Navigation menu icon (three bars at the upper right corner of the app screen). The Navigation menu appears.
  2. Tap Sign In. The Sign In screen appears.
  3. Do one of the following:
  • Tap the barcode icon in the Barcode field. The device camera opens. Center the camera's red line over the barcode on your library card. The barcode is scanned into the Barcode field.
  • Type your barcode in the Barcode field instead of scanning it, or tap the microphone icon on the keyboard to speak your barcode.
  • Type your unique user identifier and password if your library offers this option.
  • Type your LDAP (external) logon information (for example, your student ID) if your library offers this option.
  1. Type your password in the Password field.
Obtaining a Password

You must have a password to place holds, check out eBooks and eAudiobooks, or access your patron account. Contact your library if you need a password.

Sign-In Labels

Your library might have labels other than Barcode and Password for the sign-in fields. You use the same authentication information that you use in the library's WebPAC.

  1. Tap Sign In.

Signing Out

When you have signed in to the MyLibrary! app, you remain signed in to your library account until you tap Sign Out, you change your library password (PIN) outside the app, or two months have passed since you last accessed the app.

To sign out of the MyLibrary! app:

  1. Tap the Navigation menu icon (three bars at the upper right corner of the app screen). The Navigation menu appears.
  2. Tap Sign out. A message asks if you are sure you want to sign out.
  3. Tap Sign out on the message. A message confirms that you have signed out successfully.
