Configuring the webproxy.request.patterns File

The webproxy.request.patterns file resides in your live/ directory. This file requires assistance from Innovative staff to edit. To make changes to the file, contact Innovative.

The webproxy.request.patterns file allows libraries to rewrite requests to a remote server which include problematic characters in the URL containing the request. For example, a request that includes a forward slash in the numbering of a journal resource (e.g. 'Volume 49 Issue 7/8') must be rewritten so that the forward slash is not interpreted by the remote server as being part of a file path. This file allows you to specify one or more remote servers for which the system rewrites requests.
