Renaming and Deleting Files in Data Exchange

You can rename or delete files in Data Exchange. For example, if you periodically import files from a remote system, each import may contain new data yet use file names that already exist in your system. You can rename the files in your system so that the imported files do not overwrite them.

Renaming Files

To rename a file in the Data Exchange file list:

1. Select a file.
2. Choose Tools | Rename Files. Note that all the files that use the same base file name are changed when you choose one of the files.
3. Enter the new file name and choose OK.

Deleting Files

To manage the file list in Data Exchange, you can delete any of the files in the list:

1. Select a file. You can select multiple files by using the Ctrl and Shift keys.
2. Choose Tools | Delete a File.
3. Choose OK in the confirmation dialog box.
