Counting MARC Tags in Data Exchange
When you choose to count the MARC tags in a file of MARC records, the system lists
- which MARC tags the file contains.
- how many times each tag appears.
Counting the MARC tags provides a "snapshot" of the file contents. Counting tags can help you decide quickly whether the records are likely to conform to your library's standards and be complete.
To count MARC tags in a file:
- Select a file.
- Choose Tools | View a File.
- In the file view window, choose Tools | Count.
To print the Counting Tags dialog box, choose the Print button.
See Printing in Sierra for more information.
