Enabling or Disabling PIN Verification for the SIP2 Circulation Interface
PIN Verification enables an extra layer of security for patrons using library functions to access their patron records; e.g., using SelfCheck units to check out items.
SelfCheck Unit PINs
To determine the PINs your patrons can use at your SelfCheck units, contact your SelfCheck unit vendor to determine whether your SelfCheck units support numeric-only keypads or alphanumeric keyboards.
- If your SelfCheck units support numeric PINs only, patrons with numeric-only PINs can use your library's SelfCheck units.
- If your SelfCheck units support alphanumeric PINs, patrons with alphanumeric PINs can use your library's SelfCheck units.
- If you want PIN verification disabled for your SelfCheck units, contact Innovative. You can choose to disable PIN verification for SelfCheck only and retain PIN verification for all other relevant functionality.

- Contact Innovative to have the SIP2 Circulation Interface configured to prompt patrons to enter their PINs.
