Autosorting Items on Checkin
If your library has acquired the SIP2 Circulation Interface product and uses an autosorting machine to automatically sort items upon checkin, you can request that Innovative enable the Autosort feature.
By default, the SIP2 Circulation Interface does not display the call number and pickup location code in the Checkin Response message. The Autosort feature enables the SIP2 Circulation Interface to display the call number and, if the item is to be set in transit to satisfy a hold, the pickup location code. The autosorting machine uses this information to sort the checked-in item.
To enable the Autosort feature, contact Innovative. See Sorting Checked-in Items with SIP2 Automated Materials Handling Systems for additional sorting capabilities for use with third-party batch-checkin systems.
Autosorting Items with Non-unique Call Numbers
If your library does not use a unique call number for each item (e.g., if your library uses "FIC" or "FICTION" instead of a unique alphanumeric code), the autosorter might be unable to sort the item properly with the Autosort feature. To display additional information in the call number element of the Checkin Response message, see Autosorting Items with Non-unique Call Numbers.
