IINN-Reach Models
Innovative implements the model that you select for your entire Local Server; that is, all the sites on your Local Server use the same INN-Reach model. However, given Local Servers within your INN-Reach System can use different INN-Reach models.
There are two INN-Reach models available:
Agency Model
This model is used when a Local Server hosts multiple libraries or organizations. Each library or organization is assigned a separate agency code. Item and patron records contain location codes that are mapped to agency codes; the records are, thus, identified as belonging to an agency. (For example, patrons are assigned to an agency based upon the HOME LIBRARY code in their patron records.) The system creates virtual patron and item records that identify the agency to which each belongs.
WebPAC on the INN-Reach Central Server:
- Displays holdings grouped by agency; within groupings, the order of display is based on agency display name.
- Requires patrons to identify the agency to which they belong when requesting.
- Determines the agency and related pickup locations to offer the patron in authentication displays.
Institution Model
This model is used when a Local Server hosts a single library or organization. The Local Server is assigned a single site code. Location codes in item and patron records are mapped to this site code. All the records from the Local Server are identified as belonging to a single site in the INN-Reach Catalog.
WebPAC on the INN-Reach Central Server:
- Displays holdings grouped by institution; within groupings, the order of display is based on institution display name.
- Requires patrons to identify the institution to which they belong when requesting.
- Determines the institution and related pickup locations to offer the patron in authentication displays.
