Administering Sound Options

The Sounds menu defines the sound clips used by Sierra for a variety of Circulation activities.

The following buttons control sound settings for all activities:

Use customized sounds

Allows choosing a sound clip for each activity.

Disable sounds

Turns sound off for all activities.

Use default beep

Use the workstation's standard beep for all activities.

Changing a Sound

To change a sound clip:

1. In the Sounds menu, choose the Use customized sounds button if it is not already chosen.
2. For the sound type you want to change (for example, "Item Warning"), use the drop-down menu to select the sound clip's filename from the list. Select (none) if you want to disable sound for the activity.
