Automatic Authority Control: Update names in name/title fields

Automatic Authority Control

The Automatic Authority Control feature must be enabled on your system for this option to apply. Contact Innovative to enable Automatic Authority Control.

Set this option to "YES" to enable the application of name authority record updates to name-title bibliographic headings. With this option enabled, when the name authority record heading MARC 100 field changes, the system updates the corresponding bibliographic record 6XX, 7XX, and 8XX field name headings even when they contain title information. (The system retains the 't' subfield and any subsequent subfields.) For example:

Name authority record headings:

100 10 Mozart, Wolfgang Amadeus,|d1756-1791.
400 10 |wnna|aMozart, Johann Chrysostom Wolfgang Amadeus,|d1756-1791

Bibliographic record heading:

700 10 Mozart, Wolfgang Amadeus,|d1756-1791.|tTrios,|mpiano, clarinet, viola,|nK. 498,|rE flat major

If the name authority record is updated to:

100 10 Mozart, Wolfgang Amadeus,|dca. 1756-1791.
400 10 |wnna|aMozart, Johann Chrysostom Wolfgang Amadeus,|d1756-1791

the bibliographic 700 field becomes:

700 10 Mozart, Wolfgang Amadeus,|dca. 1756-1791.|tTrios,|mpiano, clarinet,viola,|nK. 498,|rE flat major
