Setting Up SimplyReports Security
You can add SimplyReports users, remove users, specify the level of user, and specify which organizations’ data the user is permitted to view on the Admin tab, Security subtab. When you first add a SimplyReports user, the user has access to all SimplyReports functionality and data from all branches, libraries, and systems listed in the Polaris database. To limit the user’s access to SimplyReports functionality, clear the appropriate checkboxes. To grant access, select the appropriate checkboxes.
Note: New users are granted access to all functions and all report subtabs in SimplyReports.

SimplyReports Permissions
Patron - The following checkboxes apply to patron reports.
- Patron list reports - If this box is selected, the selected user can access the Patron list report subtab on the Patron tab and create patron list reports.
- Create patron record sets from patron lists - If this box is selected, the selected user can create patron record sets from the Patron list report subtab.
- Patron count reports - If this box is selected, the selected user can access the Patron count reports subtab and create patron count reports.
- Patron statistical reports - If this box is selected, the selected user can access the Patron statistical reports subtab and create patron statistical reports.
- Patron history reports - If this box is selected, the selected user can access the Patron history reports subtab and create patron history reports.
Patron Account - The following checkboxes apply to patron account reports.
- Patron account list reports - If this checkbox is selected, the selected user can access the Patron account list reports subtab and create patron account list reports.
- Create patron record sets from patron account lists - If this checkbox is selected, the selected user can create patron record sets from the Patron account list reports subtab.
- Patron account count reports - If this checkbox is selected, the selected user can access the Patron account count reports subtab and create patron account count reports.
- Patron account statistical reports - If this checkbox is selected, the selected user can access the Patron account statistical reports subtab and create patron account statistical reports.
Holds - The following checkboxes apply to holds reports.
- Holds list reports - If this checkbox is selected, the user can access the Holds list reports subtab and create holds list reports.
- Create patron record sets from holds lists - If this checkbox is selected, the user can create patron records sets from the Holds list reports subtab.
- Holds count reports - If this checkbox is selected, the selected user can access the Holds count reports subtab and create holds count reports.
- Holds statistical reports - If this checkbox is selected, the selected user can access the Holds statistical reports subtab and create holds statistical reports.
Items - The following checkboxes apply to item reports.
- Item list reports - If this checkbox is selected, the selected user can access the Item list reports subtab and create item list reports.
- Create item record set from item lists - If this checkbox is selected, the selected user can create item records sets on the Item list reports subtab.
- Item count reports - If this checkbox is selected, the selected user can access the Item count reports subtab and create item count reports.
- Item statistical reports - If this checkbox is selected, the selected user can access the Item statistical reports subtab and create item statistical reports.
- Item history reports - If this checkbox is selected, the selected user can access the Item history reports subtab and create item history reports.
Bibs - The following checkboxes apply to bibliographic reports.
- Bib list reports - If this checkbox is selected, the selected user can access the Bib list reports subtab and create bib list reports.
- Create bib record set from bib lists - If this checkbox is selected, the selected user can create bibliographic record sets from the Bib list reports subtab.
- Bib count reports - If this checkbox is selected, the selected user can access the Bib count reports subtab and create bib count reports.
- Bib statistical reports - If this checkbox is selected, the selected user can access the Bib statistical reports subtab and create bib statistical reports.
Authority - The following checkboxes apply to authority reports.
- Authority list reports -If this checkbox is selected, the selected user can access the Authority list reports subtab and create authority list reports.
- Create authority record set from authority lists - If this checkbox is selected, the selected user can create authority record sets from the Authority list reports subtab.
- Authority count reports - If this checkbox is selected, the selected user can access the Authority count reports subtab and create authority count reports.
- Authority stat reports - If this checkbox is selected, the selected user can access the Authority stat reports subtab and create authority statistical reports.
Serials - The following checkboxes apply to serials reports.
- Serials list reports - If this checkbox is selected, the selected user can access the Serials list reports subtab and create serial list reports.
- Serials count reports - If this checkbox is selected, the selected user can access the Serials count reports subtab and create serial count reports.
- Serials statistical reports - If this checkbox is selected, the selected user can access the Serials statistical reports subtab and create serials statistical reports.
Funds - The following checkboxes apply to fund reports
- Fund list reports - If this checkbox is selected, the selected user can access the Funds list reports subtab and create fund list reports.
- Fund summary reports - If this checkbox is selected, the selected user can access the Fund summary reports subtab and create fund summary reports.
Export Express - The following checkboxes apply to Export Express.
- Export Express from item list reports - If this checkbox is selected, the selected user can export the report output for an item list report using Export Express.
- Export Express from bib list reports -If this checkbox is selected, the selected user can export the report output for a bib list report using Export Express.
- Export Express from authority list reports - If this checkbox is selected, the selected user can export the report output for an authority list report using Export Express.
Administration - The following checkboxes apply to the Administration tab.
- User security - If this checkbox is selected, the selected user can change, add, or delete SimplyReports users.
- Application defaults - If this checkbox is selected, the selected user can access and edit the application’s default settings.
- Master schedule and hours maintenance - If this box is selected, the selected user can access and edit the SimplyReports master schedule including specifying the hours reports can run.
Saved reports - The following checkboxes apply to the Saved reports tab.
- File maintenance - If this checkbox is selected, the selected user can access the File maintenance subtab and maintain report files.
- Saved reports - If this checkbox is selected, the selected user can access the Saved reports tab and run or schedule saved reports.
- Schedule maintenance - If this checkbox is selected, the selected user can maintain report schedules.
Export Profiles (Export Express)- The following checkboxes apply to Export Express custom profiles. This functionality is located on the Export profiles subtab of the Bibs tab.
- View export profiles - If this checkbox is selected, the selected user can access the Export profiles subtab and view export profiles for Export Express.
- Add export profiles - If this checkbox is selected, the selected user can add new export profiles for Export Express.
- Edit export profiles - If this checkbox is selected, the selected user can edit export profiles for Export Express.
- Delete export profiles - If this checkbox is selected, the user can delete export profiles set up for Export Express.
SimplyReports content administration - The following checkboxes apply to editing the content that can be selected when users create reports.
- Edit SimplyReports content - If this checkbox is selected, the selected user can access the SimplyReports Content administration subtab and edit SimplyReports content.
- Add/Delete SimplyReports content - If this checkbox is selected, the selected user can add or delete SimplyReports content on the SimplyReports content administration subtab.
Polaris to MSSQL Reporting Services link - The following checkboxes apply to publishing reports.
- Publish reports to the Polaris toolbar - If this checkbox is selected, the selected user can publish reports from SimplyReports and make them available in the Custom folder in the Polaris Reports window.
- Create XML files for export to reporting services (Must also have the ability to publish reports) - If this checkbox is selected, the selected user can create XML files that can be copied to Reporting Services.
- Advanced publishing to the Polaris toolbar - If this checkbox is selected, the selected user can publish reports created in SimplyReports and designed in Microsoft Report Builder, and make them available in the Custom folder in the Polaris Reports window.
