006–Mixed Materials Dialog Box

The 006–Mixed Materials dialog box is used to insert information about special aspects of the mixed material, which cannot be inserted in field 008. The 006 Mixed Materials dialog box is displayed when you double-click the 006 tag in the MARC Editor and the first position of the fixed field contains ‘p’.

Select from the options in the following boxes to enter data in the 006 tag for mixed materials:

Form of material - Indicates the type of material being described.

Form of item - Specifies the form of material for the item in hand. For mixed materials that are archival controlled, this character position is coded to reflect the predominant part of the materials being described. If the materials have been microfilmed but the repository still has the originals, a blank code is used.
