Floating Collections: Troubleshooting
You have designated floating collections and assigned branches to the collections. For each home branch, you have set float-to branches and determined which material types can float. Now you have scanned an item from another branch and the item went to In-transit instead of floating to your branch. What happened?
- Check the item’s material type. Is this a material type that is set to float?
- Check your limits by material type for the receiving branch. Is this item over the limit?
- Check your limits by collection for the receiving branch. Is this item over the limit?
- Check the Floating parameters (Parameters, Patron Services) for the receiving branch. Has floating been enabled?
- Does the item have an assigned collection? If not, check the setting for the Patron Services parameter Floating: Items with blank Assigned Collection can float.
- Does the assigned collection of the incoming item match a collection used by the receiving branch? If not, check the setting for the Patron Services parameter Floating: Float Items with no matching collection.
