Set Optional Patron Duplicate Detection Fields

To specify which patron record fields (in addition to the patron name, barcode, and birth date) are checked during duplicate detection:

  1. In the Administration Explorer tree view, open the Parameters folder for the organization, and select the Patron Services tab in the details view.
  2. Double-click Duplication detection options to display the Duplicate Detection Options dialog box.
  3. Select the check boxes for the additional patron record fields that the system should check for matching criteria. You can select a maximum of two user-defined fields (UDFs). There is no selection limit in the other sections.
  4. Click OK on the Duplicate Detection Options dialog box. The Administration Explorer appears.
  5. Select File > Save to save your changes.
